1. The quote means that you are not supposted to take the individuality of other people. The reason I think that is because usurp means takeand it says "never, ever, allow a groups will to usurp your individual rights. like on the baseball team, some kids think that if you weren't on the team you weren't the same.

2. Robert billings is sort of the class idiot, but it is because his brother was all these great things. So he does not try because he thinks the other people will compare him to his brother and make him live in his brothers shadow. But after the wave starts he feels that he is the same as everyone else so he trys harder. then he sort of loses himself after the wave goes too far. In some ways Robert got better but not more than worse, for example robert got better at participating but he wanted to get rid of Laurie. after the wave ended I do not think Robert will go back to his old self because he has learned that if try good things happen but every posotive affect has an equally negative affect.

3. some elements of facism is everyone that is nota member they would harras them so they would join. also if they didn't join they would be beat and treated different. A historical event that was fascist was when sadam huisane when he wouldn't let women show anything higher than there ankles. How it was fascist is because if you were a girl you were considered un-worthy.

Avoiding Mob Mentality
4. The first and best way to avoid mob mentality is to stay away from it. If you can't stay away from it try staying home sick for a bit. If you know som kids in that mob talk nto them and try to get them out. if all else fails try telling the teacher or principle about the problem.
