1.I think yoko is helping mr.Niado because when she met him he always helped her. I also think he helps her because she is the only one that has been nice to him. Mr. Niado and Yoko both have a problem in their lives that is hard to get over. Like Mr.Niado he has a stutter and Yoko is a refugee from Korea, they both have trouble with getting money because Mr. Niado can't get a job anywhere else and Yoko is too young towork.
2. I think Ko's "Idea" is a turning point for Yoko because she is working so hard fr money. Also because she realized that it was because she was doing that she was able to get the decent food. Yoko is kind of more kind and more grateful of her sister.
3. Why do you think Mrs.Mausudo has been so nice to Ko And Yoko? why do you think the people at the matress place was giving away free futons for refugees?

(2.) I agree. After Yoko sees Ko shining shoes for the money it makes Yoko realize how much Ko really cares.

1. i agree with you about Mr Naido and Yoko having problems before or in there past and about Yoko being nice to Mr. Naido because he was the firsr person that got close to her in a really frienlly way and he is that only person she can talk with at school and dosen't care about what she does with the trash cans and how she dresse.
2. I agree with you. when Yoko sees Ko shining shoes she realized how hard her sister Ko is working to make sure that they are ok and have something to eat and it shows to Yoko how much HER SISTER ko cares about her.
3 I think they were giving free futons for refugees because I think they know they need it hope and they know alot of them don't have nothing even something to eat and they were truying to hope them.
1) I agree with you. If you really think about it, they could both set an end to both of their problems if they tried. Or it will just end. For example, Mr. Naido could just speak slower and learn to not stutter and Yoko will no longer be in the position that she is in right now but it will take time.
2) I agree with you. I think that Ko is being really responsible because they already have money from their mothers ruck sack and they could use that but I think that Ko wants to make money of her own so they could use their mothers money for an emergency.
Group Question - I think that she is nice because maybe she had gone through something that was very alike to what Ko and Yoko where going through. I think that "mattress place" were giving away free mattress's because they were caring enough to help the refuge people
