1. One thing that I learned that was kind of interesting was that they made the Jewish people dig trenches then they would shoot them into it. I thought it was interesting because that is something I really didn't know about the Holocaust. it was also surprising to me because When I went to the Holocaust museum in DC they didn't have anything about those trenches.

2. I think David's family is very caring. I think this is because in the third chapter(or #2 or 1) he describes how his mom and his sisters really look after each other. I also think this because David went after his father and saved him from the Nazis and made sure he was OK.

3. Well I think it means he is brave. I also think it means that he loves his family very much. an example of this is when in the book David said that he had to save his dad even if he got caught.
